Change Management

Once a project has been defined, it may be necessary to use a formal mechanism to change the nature or scope of the project.

Change records allow for an authorisation step to be performed by an appropriate individual and maintain a history of any scope changes. The owner of the project, or someone assigned as a project manager of it may create a change record, which will have an initial state of pending.

Sponsors of the project are authorised to accept or reject this change. Rejected changes can later be approved if conditions change, or the nature of the change is amended.

Updates to change records will be reflected in the project event log.
